Preparatory Drawings April 1998.
Painted 1998. The inspiration was the many works by Pierre Bonnard of his wife Marte lying in a bath. The artist made his preparatory drawings while standing on a ladder. The model was required to lay in the bath for extended periods while the artist analysed the pose and the effect of light refracting though the water. |
