Preliminary sketches completed November/December 1999.
Work painted 2000. Aspens form a screen to the red rock of the mesa in the background. Cottonwood trees lie beneath the cliff face. The high altitude of New Mexico allows the crisp sunlight to highlight the strata in the volcanic rock. |
