A brilliantly informative and well presented site. I am so grateful for the obvious amount of effort that has been put into this site. I have recently converted to Shamanism and I am always interested in more aspects to the pagan faiths. Thankyou very much, this site has aided me immesurably.Note: By stating that I have converted to Shamanism I in no way claim to be part of any Shamanic group (e.g. Native American) and I in no way wish to offend or insult any of these groups by claiming to follow Shamanism.

I THINK IT HAPPENED BY MISTAKE - I CAN'T REALLY SAY THAT I'M ANY KIND OF BELIEVER, OTHER THAN IN MYSELF, HOWEVER, I AM A MOTHER OF A LITTLE BOY WHO IS ABOSOLUTLEY THRILLED THAT HALLOWEEN IS NEAR APPROACHING. I'M NOT EVEN SURE THAT WITCHES ARE ANYTHING TO DO WITH HALLOWEEN, BUT THIS YEAR OUR THEME IS WITCHES. SOMEHOW THEY (WITCHES) ARE NOT AS SCAREY TO MY LITTLE BOY, WHEREAS THE TYPICAL 'SCREAM' AND 'MICHAEL MYERS' OUTFITS THAT PARADE OUR STREETS TRICK OR TREATING ARE TERRIFING TO HIM. INDEED TO MYSELF AT TIMES TOO. WE LOVE THE TYPICAL SILHOUTTE OF THE OLD, CRINKLEY BIG WALTED NOSED WITCHY ON A BROOM STICK IN FRONT OF A BIG ORANGE MOON. ANYHOW, I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING (A LITTLE LATE I MUST ADMITE AS THERE IS SUCH A SHORT TIME NOW BEFORE WE START TRICK OR TREATING) FOR A HUGE CAULDRON TO WHICH WE WANT TO HAVE IN OUR FRONT GARDEN UNDER A REAL FIRE, CONTAINING MY FABULOUS PUMPKING SOUP. IT WOULD BE BUBBLING AND BOILING AWAY AS IF WE WERE REALLY STEWING UP A SPELL. I HAVE MANAGED TO GET HOLD OF A LIFE SIZED WITCH, WHICH IS BRILLLIANT, BUT WE WANTED HER TO STAND CLOSE TO THE CAULDRON FOR ADDED EFFECT. WE'VE GOT A SCARREY NOISE CD WITH CACKALLING WITCHES AND CATS SCREAMING THAT WE'LL HAVE IN THE GARDEN AND I'VE BORROWED A SMOKE MACHINE FROM THE LOCAL SCOUTS. HOPEFULLY, MY BRILIENT IDEAR OF PROJECTING THE TYPICAL SILHOUTTE OF THE WITCH ON A BROOMSTICK ONTO THE FRONT OF OUR HOUSE, WILL BE AS WONDERFUL AS MY LITTLE BOY AND ALL HIS OTHER 5 YEAR OLD MATES ARE EXPECTING!! AS PART OF OUR TREAT FOR THE TRICKERS AND TREATERS THAT COME A KNOCKING, WE WOULD GIVE THEM A CUP OF MY WONDERFUL SOUP. SOMETHING DIFFERENT TO THE USUALL SWEETS. SOUNDS GREAT DOSN'T IT? I CANT FIND ANYWHERE LOCAL TO GET HOLD OF A HUGE CAULDRON. ANYWAY, THIS IS HOW I'VE COME ABOUT THE SITE. LOOKING ON THE INTERNET. NOW THAT I'VE BABBLED MY WAY THROUGH THE INS AND OUTS OF OUR HALLOWEEN THEME, I CAN NOW TELL YOU HOW FABULOUSLY INTERESTING YOUR SITE REALLY IS. Sorry, but I need to ask about that post from the lady in America, the one who goes to a Christian university (or some such), what is a tounge, and how does it confess? Also, if what one reads becomes a part of the self then it does that make paganism a part of her? I do hope she hasn't been checking out satanist websites as well... I really liked this site, it gave me a lot of true information that I was not aware of. I have been very curios about what paganism is all about, the more I know the more I like it. i found your website extremely interesting and informative, especially the portion about runes. i consider myself new to the pagan following, and would be very grateful to any who would pass on informative links and emails. i think perhaps the only thing that could be improved would be more in depth detail in the area of stone circles, ley lines and such things, ive always found them fascinating. good luck with all your endeavors.

I think the site is great but the only thing (which I find with most pagan website) they always assume that you are Wiccan. Im just a follower of the old ways, I am not a witch. Not all Pagans are witches!!!

I will definitely return to your site, I enquired about Paganism etc for i have just read a book and found it unbelievably interesting. I did not realise before what it entailed and also discovered that i have been doing so much in the same lines ie: crystal healing, developing intuition, tarot cards (beginner deluxe) and want to carry on my empowerment and this seems to fit the bill. Pass on the word and the belief in this religion and perhaps we can move away from the burning times and the devil worship misunderstanding and become an accepted religion outside of our own group. I couldn't believe Jay Leno last month stated that people who practice Wicca are all Satan worshipers. (Hello! Satan is a Christian creation as is Hell. Why would I worship them?) And then this “Lady” signs your quest book, under the guise of being an authority on Wicca, who obviously didn't read your site nor had a firm grasp of what it stands for. We put a spell on our front page just for such people. It is an adaptation of the Wiccan Rede for the Web that my wife May Breaze wrote: Round my web space three times, charged circle I see. Ye Lords of the Watchtowers, bear witness for me Guard all that enters, protect all which leaves. By Love of Goddess, Will of God, So Mote It Be! I have never been happier in my life then when I embraced Wicca. (Other than when Breaze and I did our eternal Handfasting vows. The lack of information back then is what inspired us to start our site) Yeah, what they call it is new, but the root of this religion is very old. Latest I heard, they found some goddess artifacts dating back 35,000 years. No matter what you think of Gerald Gardner, his heart was in the right place. He knew that if we continued to keep Witchcraft behind closed doors, it would eventually die off. And so he took some bold steps in his time, which began the explosion of information for the religion of the wise. (Just for the record “Lady”, I am not saying that Gerald Gardner was the first to write a book on the practice of witchcraft. You would have to read some books on him and the Golden Dawn to find out the whole story) Breaze and I have had our share of Email blasting the information on our Web. We finally concluded that we could either generalize everything and loose the passion of what we believe personally or we could continue to tell it like we have been taught and provide links to sites who had creditable information, all be it a different point of view. We have lost some great Icons of our religion. Now it is up to the true believers and continue the tradition of passing on the word of the wise to the next generation. Loved the site. Being in the military in the US NAVY I see a lot of positive changes. It is now required for chaplains aboard US NAVY Ships to offer Pagans a place to practice our relegion. Excellent website. I come from a long line of Pagans who became Christian in this new world. I am trying to revive the bloodlines gifts but the family is not real helpful they do not see the old ways as the right ways anymore because others view it as wrong and they feel to survive in the world you must go with the flow. I believe to truly survive the world you must go with your own soul/spirit. Thank you for such an informational place to contemplate/mediatate upon my goals. I believe in both Christianity and pagan which confuses a lot of people, but i am at a crossroads, a turning point in my life and sites like these help me a little further on my path of spiritual awakening. I think if Lady C had actually browsed this site she would have realized how much quality information is on it and not jumped to conclusions. Though she is entitled to her opinion, no site which supports Pagan belief and tradition should be bashed by another Pagan. Then we are no better than the Christians who profess one thing and do something else which is why I am turning back to old family traditions vice The squabbling over which 2,000 year old Christian tradition is right. I hope no one thinks anything on this site is in any way correct 1. Wicca is a specific tradition, it was established only 50 years ago by Gerald Gardner et al. Please look at www.GeraldGardner.com and learn about the man who created Wicca and why you can't call yourself such without training in that specific tradition. 2. Black or White magic- Magic is natural energy, it has no color, what people in the past considered black magic was propaganda of the Judeo-Christian construct, it never existed and it does not exist today! Nice to see you left an e-mail address (not!) so the rest of the Pagan comity could be rude to you back.

1) Wicca is modern day religion agreed, that's what the history section says. This site does not state that all Witches are Wiccans - try reading it!
2) Where did the black/white magic rant come from - I don't even mention it on the site!
3) I'm not a "teenager writing crap" - I'm 37 and have been a Witch for most of my life. What a great way to promote your tradition - insult the largest group of people you'd like to pass your tradition on to!
4) I do not state anywhere that either Wicca or Witchcraft is 20,000 years old - I state that reverence for a Goddess/God and reverence for nature are over 20,000 years old - an historical fact borne out by archaeological finds of cave paintings and artefacts.
5) Wicca is indeed only part of Witchcraft which itself is only part of the Pagan traditions - this site is not a Wiccan site - it's never said it is nor does it say that Wicca is the whole of Witchcraft! The general public however do associate the two as synonymous in the same way that they see Catholic or Protestant as synonymous to the generic term Christianity. Even the COG website uses the Wicca/Witchcraft analogy in their opening paragraph of the Basic Philosophy section.
6) No wonder we have such problems uniting as one group to get our religion (and its constituent traditions) recognised when there are people with your hostile attitude to other Witches and Pagans.
7) If you are so knowledgeable as you seem to imply, why don't you spend the time and effort as I have; and set up your own website to teach what you consider to be the truth instead of criticising other peoples hard work!

Informative site for newbies like myself. I was able to understand the section on the elements and the use of the invoking and banishing pentragram. The extra print-off for the words for calling the quarters - very useful. Would like more information on the ley-lines - particularly after having visited the Rollright Stones and feeling the energy that was in the centre of the stones. People were using dowsing rods and my husband tried and it was interesting the way the rods crossed at the same point around a section of the centre of the stones. A very powerful site. Keep up the good work.

I've been researching now for over 4yrs on internet.. or WWW.. newsgroups, yahoo clubs, and so far this is the best site I have yet to see! just as I was giving up too! thanks.. the bit about astral travel, is particularly relevant, can't find much on this subject in any books, or any sites!
