Major Arcana

15 - The Devil (The Horned One in some decks)
Like Death, this card can also provoke some interesting reactions from
first-time subjects. It implies being the slave of your desires, the acceptance of an unwanted situation, a loss
of independence and feeling of hopelessness, remaining ignorant of something,
and an over valuing of material things above spiritual. The subject may have an
obsession, or be addicted and enslaved by something e.g. drugs, alcohol, sex...
The subject can be caught up in appearances (fashion victim), overindulging in
the senses and being unaware of the consequences. They may allow themselves to
be easily controlled whilst feeling tied down against their will. They fear the
unknown and so have a very narrow viewpoint, they usually believe the worst of
anybody or situation, always think negatively and lack faith in most things.
They may be easily taken in by outward appearances.
